Safety

The safety of our fragrances

Choosing a scent atmosphere also takes care. We formulate our fragrances to the strictest standards in the industry. Product directions and the sensitivities of the people and animals present matter just as much.

Rigour in every formulation

Why does the safety of our fragrances matter so much?

What you breathe matters. Our fragrances are formulated in accordance with IFRA standards for their intended use.

Breathe with confidence

The air you breathe directly affects your comfort. Heated diffusers can release unwanted substances. At Aromaestro, we focus on clean, controlled and safe diffusion. Our fragrances are formulated in accordance with IFRA standards for their intended use; follow the product directions and leave people and animals free to leave the room.

Cold diffusion, zero residue

Our technology works without heat, smoke or residue. Cold-air nebulization turns liquid fragrance into nanodroplets without using heat. Unlike fragrance burners, this process preserves the fragrance's integrity, produces no combustion and leaves no deposits on surfaces.

Purity, safety and compliance

Our fragrances are formulated to the strictest standards in the industry, with safety data sheets to back them.

The standards we work to

Standards recognized around the world

Our fragrances meet the most demanding standards in the fragrance industry.*

  1. 01

    IFRA

The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) is the global voice of the fragrance industry. Since 1973 it has brought together fragrance houses, national associations and ingredient manufacturers around one commitment: the safe, responsible and sustainable use of fragrance materials. Its standards are grounded in science and set safe use levels for each ingredient. Every Aromaestro fragrance is formulated to IFRA standards. Learn more

  2. 02

    RIFM

The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) evaluates the safety of materials used in perfumery. Its scientific work contributes to the development of IFRA standards. Learn more

  3. 03

    Environment Canada

Under Environment and Climate Change Canada's Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Concentration Limits for Certain Products Regulations (SOR/2021-268), products sold in Canada must meet maximum VOC concentration limits by category. Aromaestro fragrances are formulated to meet these requirements, in compliance with Canadian standards for VOC emissions. Learn more

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about safety

Is it safe around children and pets?

Our fragrances are formulated in accordance with IFRA standards for their intended use. This does not guarantee tolerance for every person or animal. Follow the product directions and stop diffusion in the affected area if discomfort occurs.

What is cold nebulization?

Cold nebulization turns liquid fragrance into microparticles without using heat. Unlike oil burners, it produces no combustion, no soot and no deposit on surfaces, and the diffusion stays even.

What is the difference between a fragrance and an essential oil?

An essential oil is a natural plant extract obtained by distillation and used in aromatherapy. A fragrance is a composition created by perfumers, combining natural and synthetic ingredients for more complex olfactory profiles. We offer both; they must be used according to their directions and applicable standards.

Where do your raw materials come from?

Our fragrances are developed with an exceptional perfume house and its team of master perfumers. The raw materials used are approved by IFRA and RIFM, and are composed of natural or synthetic ingredients.

A question about our fragrances?

Balanced olfactory compositions, made with care.
